This sub-class includes medical, diagnostic and/or treatment activities of acute hospitals. Units in this sub-class are primarily engaged in: - hospital activities towards inpatients and/or are carried out under the direct supervision of medical doctors and/or includes services of: - medical and/or paramedical staff - laboratory and/or technical facilities, including radiologic and/or anaesthesiologic services - emergency rooms - provision of operating room services, pharmacy services, food and/or other hospital services

This sub-class includes operation of community hospitals. Units in this sub-class are primarily engaged in: - rehabilitative care - intermediate medical care - sub-acute care

This sub-class includes hospital activities not elsewhere classified. Examples: - hospitals for infectious diseases - family planning centres providing medical treatment such as sterilisation and/or termination of pregnancy, with accommodation - maternity hospitals
